Penis rings are designed to maintain erections and, for some, create more intense orgasms. They are worn around the base of the penis, or around the penis and testicles, and restrict blood flow from leaving the penis.
Reasons to Wear a Penis Ring
Penis rings can be a fun and exciting addition to anyone's sex life, whether partnered or flying solo. Rings are most commonly worn for the following reasons:
- Creates firmer, longer lasting erections
- More intense orgasms
- Assists a man who has trouble maintaining and erection
- Gives the penis a different look; can even make it appear larger
- They feel good - Almost like having a firm grip around your manhood
What kind of penis ring should I choose?
It is important to choose one that has a firm enough grip around the penis to restrict blood flow, yet comfortable enough so that it does not completely cut blood circulation off all together. Adjustable or stretchable penis rings are a good choice for first-time users. Solid non-adjustable penis rings are best suited for those used to how the rings work with their bodies.
How long should I wear a penis ring?
To prevent damage or bruising to the penis, a ring should not completely restrict the blood flow for longer than 20-30 minutes at a time. If discomfort is felt at any time, the ring should be removed as quickly as possible.
How do I measure for a penis ring?
To find the ring that is the right size takes some basic math . . . and you thought it would never come in handy! For rings to be worn at the base of the penis, take a piece of string or a soft tape measure and wrap it around the base of an ERECT penis, giving you the circumference. For rings worn around the penis and testicles, measure and wrap around behind the testicles and as close to the body as you can while the penis is ERECT for the circumference. Because ring sizes are given in diameter, you will need to divide this number by 3.14. For example: If the penis measures 6 inches ÷ 3.14 = 1.91 inches. A ring that is smaller than 1.91" but within .25" - .5" will be needed to ensure a comfortable fit without constricting too much.
Note that some manufacturers advertise their rings in millimeters (mm) instead of inches. To quickly convert millimeters to inches, divide the millimeter figure by 25.4. For example, to convert a 47mm penis ring to inches: 47mm ÷ 25.4 = 1.85 inches.
How do I put on a penis ring?
Adjustable rings can be put on any time during an erection by simply stretching or strapping the ring on so that it fits snuggly around the base of the penis or behind the testicles. Since they are flexible, they can also be removed easily at any time.
Firm, non-adjustable rings:
- Always start with a flaccid penis.
- Hold the ring under the testicles, insert one at a time.
- Pull the penis through the ring and adjust for comfort.
To remove the non-adjustable ring, the penis must be flaccid, and simple reverse the steps above.
